I just finished another crochet project, the Hotel of Bees Shawl by Christina Hadderingh. This shawl has a lot of beautiful details, but I’ll warn you, it is a bit of a tricky pattern because of the decreases on each row. Still, it makes a deliciously complex finished object.
Instead of following the color changes, I used Trendsetter’s Smoothies (53% cotton, 48% acrylic) in colorway Sand & Stone. This yarn consists of 4 individual lace strands. For each color shift, one strand changes, so even though there are only five main colors, there are twelve color transitions.
Funny enough, this shawl pattern inspired me to make a dress using some similar motifs. For this one, I used two colorways from The Farmer’s Daughter. I love the bee and honeycomb theme.
